Phil Duan a Director of Engineering at Tesla, where his team focuses on solving self-driving at scale. He is currently leading AI development for Tesla's Full-Self Driving (FSD) and Robotaxi.

Previously he led AI development for the Tesla Robotaxi launch and the FSD v14 release. He co-led FSD v12 and v13 releases, led the AI team for data and perception, created the Occupancy Network, and helped build the world’s largest physical AI data engine.

Phil Duan obtained a PhD from Ohio University in Avionics. His dissertation received the 2019 RTCA William E. Jackson Award for outstanding contributions to aviation electronics and telecommunications.
